Wedding Flea Market
Welcome to One of the Best Wedding Ideas Ever!
Just like you, the founder of the Wedding Flea Market, Jodi Colella, started out as a bride. Soon after, Jodi launched a multi-service wedding business.
Our story begins in 2006, when Jodi Colella, the founder of Wedding Flea Market, was a bride-to-be. Discovering she had a passion for the process of planning a great wedding, Jodi soon launched a multi-service wedding business that included wedding/event planning, DJ services, and invitations.
As her business grew, Jodi came to realize that finding good wedding services was not the biggest challenge faced by brides. Wedding expenses were climbing to atmospheric heights at the same time when the demand for more imaginative, themed weddings was taking the world by storm.
How, Jodi wondered, could wedding costs be better managed without sacrificing on imagination, quality, and fun!
What if brides had the ability to buy and sell wedding decorations, attire, and supplies by connecting with one another? Newlyweds could sell their gently used, often beautifully themed items, and brides-to-be could acquire high-quality wedding items at a great price.
Searching Facebook, Jodi was surprised that were no wedding-centric buy/sell groups on the world’s biggest Social Media platform. She decided to create a group where brides and newlyweds could buy and sell directly to each other.
Jodi closed her Wedding Planning business and used her remaining inventory to experiment with this great new idea. It was an immediate hit!
As Jodi’s group rapidly grew, she noticed that buyers and sellers had to meet in various places and times, especially if the seller had multiple items. There were times when potential buyers backed out or would not show up. She recognized these inconveniences and in January 2015, Jodi organized the first ever Wedding Flea Market where brides could buy and sell under one roof.
The event was very well-received by both buyers and sellers. Today, Jodi’s Facebook group continues to grow, and each Wedding Flea Market event sells out faster than the one before.
The expansion of the Wedding Flea Market has allowed Jodi to truly fulfill her mission to help newlyweds and those getting married to buy and sell gently used wedding items. Her effort has allowed thousands of couples to get amazing deals and then make some money back on their weddings.
Although Jodi is a Pittsburgh native, she hopes to use this concept to help couples across the nation create budget-friendly dream weddings. She loves to see how her vision has resulted savings and success for thousands of people.
